Gas Line Repair & Installation Service

Gas lines are a crucial component of the infrastructure for using natural gas or propane for heating, cooking, hot water, and other purposes. They typically run through various parts of a home to supply energy to appliances such as stoves, water heaters, furnaces, fireplaces, and outdoor grills. However, they are as potentially dangerous as they are useful.

If your gas line is giving you cause for concern, then address it as soon as possible by calling Mr. Rooter Plumbing to arrange a reliable and affordable gas line repair in Greenville, NC. Our professionals can also handle an initial gas line installation or gas line replacement in Greenville.

Although our area had been experiencing freezing weather for some time, no doubt resulting in a number of plumbing emergencies in my area, they came to my house within 3 hours of being contacted. I had described my plumbing problems on the phone so when the team arrived they were prepared to immediately take corrective actions. They were very fast and efficient without rushing the work. The technician explained everything they were to do and didn't try to "up-sell" me anything. They didn't know I have experience working in the field and I didn't tell them so I could observe the quality of their work and the appropriateness of it. Their quality and appropriateness of the work done was excellent as well as the way they worked as a team. I have dealt with other "professionals" who were anything but professional. The people from Mr Rooter are the epitome of professionalism in what they did and how they did it. Their price was great, the response time was great, the work was great and the people were great. If I ever need any other work they will be the first on only people I will call. It was a pleasure to have them at my home.

I would recommend Rooter plumbing to any one concerning plumbing issues. they provided me with great information along with good and on time quality, I'm quite sure thet have great technicians, but I do know I would personally recommend Daivd Byrd! Awesome technician. Thank you again Rooter plumbing.

The guys were awesome. I didn't meet them in person but they handled the job just like I was there. I called several other companies but they were not able to get to me for several days. I called these guys and they said we will be there tomorrow. Well the next day they were here, the problem was diagnosed and fixed the same day. They were awesome and I would recommend them to anyone. I'm not looking for anything to happen but if it does, I will be calling Mr. Rooter

From first contact they were professional and kept us in the loop. Our technicians name was Andrew and he was the most professional trades person I’ve ever met. He took his time to explain everything, kept his entire crew focused and on task. His work and the work of the entire crew was great. Big job replacing all the cast iron plumbing, completed in a day. No short cuts and they made referrals to other trades we needed. The crew was great but Andrew was a ‘rock star’. Recommend and will use again if needed.

This company did a flush on my tankless water heater. First of all they texted when enroite to the house then called. The technician arrived . Introduced himself and went to work . Seemed knowledgeable Have used them several times being they will set a appointment and arrive when they say.

Were nor done with the work yet. But so far the guys out here are very polite and know what there doing. Il get back with ya on the rest of the review. So got the job done. Very professionally service. Storm & Ryan did a great job. I went though 2 other plummers before I got the rite one. Will diffenetly use them again I fneeded. So if you need a Plummer call Mr. Rooter best in the area.

You guys were extremely helpful and really got me out of a jam today (4/28/2023). Had a gate valve that when I closed it to swap out the hot water heater would not open again. Storm was very helpful in getting the valve out of the equation and putting me a pex pipe fitting so I could finally get my hot water heater hooked up. Took him probably 60 seconds to cut the valve off and attach the new fitting and he was on his way. Run me $214 but it was better than not having water and my wife skinning me alive for us not having said water. Thanks again.

Thank you for the wonderful service! We are handy people who love to fix our home issues ourselves, but we know when something is out of our bounds. Copper piping and a clawfoot bathtub faucet with a very tight space between the wall and the tub were out of our bounds. As much of a pain we know it was to install our new faucet so that we could have a shower, we appreciate every bit of effort Mr. Jr Brown used to get the job done. He was very professional, courteous, and worked diligently on this difficult task.

Had a bit of an emergency, called Mr Rooter and talked to Jade. She set me up a timeframe to get someone to me asap. Austin and Cam showed up even earlier! Took care of the immediate clog issue and was able to send me an estimate on the larger problem within the hour. I very much appreciated the quick response and a quick temporary fix until we can take care of the larger issue!

The two gentlemen (one was named Storm, and I cannot recall the the name of the other worker) who came to my home to re-pipe the first floor of my home, due to copper pipe leaks in a 40 year old home, were on time, worked hard, and were professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and respectful. They did a wonderful job, kept me fully informed of the whole process, and cleaned up afterwards. This was a large job, which took all day, and they did it with minimal disruption to my routine. I would definitely recommend them to friends and neighbors.

Gas Line Repair

Where Is the Gas Line?

The exact route of the gas line can vary depending on the layout and design of your house, as well as the location of gas appliances. Typically, the gas line may run through the:

  • Utility Room or Basement,
  • Kitchen,
  • Water Heater Closet,
  • Furnace Room,
  • Fireplace, and/or
  • Outdoor Grill

To locate the gas line(s) in your home, you can:

  • Contact your local gas utility company to obtain utility maps or diagrams that show the approximate location of gas lines on your property.
  • Inspect appliances such as stoves, water heaters, furnaces, and fireplaces to trace the gas lines back to their source in the utility room or basement.
  • Follow the gas line from the meter to identify where it enters the house and branches off to supply different appliances.
  • Consult a qualified plumber in Greenville like one from Mr. Rooter Plumbing.

Understanding the Signs of Gas Line Issues

It's important to exercise caution when working near gas lines and never attempt to tamper with or modify gas lines without proper training and authorization. It’s also important to be aware of common signs of trouble. Some warning signs to be mindful of include, but are not limited to:

Gas Line Repair
  • Strange Odors: Natural gas is odorless, but gas companies add a distinct odor (often described as a "rotten egg" smell) to help detect leaks.
  • Hissing Sounds: Gas leaks can sometimes produce hissing or whistling sounds near gas lines or appliances.
  • Dead Vegetation: If you notice dead or discolored vegetation near outdoor gas lines, it could be a sign of a gas leak underground.
  • Higher Gas Bills: A sudden increase in your gas bills without a corresponding increase in usage could indicate a gas leak or inefficient appliance.
  • Physical Symptoms: Exposure to natural gas or propane can cause physical symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, nausea, fatigue, or breathing difficulties.
  • Pilot Light Issues: If the pilot light on your gas appliances frequently goes out or has a weak or yellow flame (instead of a steady blue flame), it could indicate a problem with the gas supply or combustion process.

If you notice any of these red flags, then call Mr. Rooter Plumbing to arrange a gas line repair or inspection.

When to Replace the Gas Line

Gas lines are designed to be durable and long-lasting, but there are circumstances where a gas line replacement may be necessary for safety, efficiency, or compliance reasons. The decision to replace a gas line depends on various factors such as the age of the system, the presence of leaks or damage, changes in regulations or building codes, and upgrades or renovations that require modifications to the gas system.

If it’s time for a gas line installation in Greenville, then call Mr. Rooter Plumbing to consult with a member of our team and schedule a flexible appointment. We also offer emergency gas line repair, so do not hesitate to call Mr. Rooter Plumbing.
